Description |
Bottle found in the collection of the Littleton Museum. The bottle is a one quart clear glass bottle with a long neck and a cork stopper. The bottle was used for whiskey. Two labels are molded into the bottle: JNO.T.BARBEE & Co. :LOUISVILLE,, KY and an oval label: OLD BARBEE JNO T. BARBEE & Co. WOODFORD Co , KY. According to Tin Vienna Art Plates website (2023): "Jno T. Barber began producing whiskey under the name Jno T Barbee & Co. in 1892 Louisville Kentucky. When Jun Barber died, his distillery merged with John C. Welldoer in 1912. The company went out of business in 1920 because of the Volstad Act (Prohibition) and never returned after the admendment was repealed." |
