Painting, Acrylic. "'47 Dodge" by artist Lynne W. Watterson, c. 1985, acrylic paint on paper, not framed or matted. Blue, pink, yellow, brown in color, rectangular in shape. Painting depicts a close up portrait of light blue, almost teal, 1947 Dodge pick up truck sitting in a field of brown/golden grass with a pink and red background. The truck takes up the majority of the painting, with the front of the truck facing toward the proper right side and the bed of the truck toward the proper left side. Both the front and proper left side of the truck are visible. Truck is light blue/teal with accent and shadows of pink, orange, silver, red, and yellow. The car's grille and handles are silver in color. The driver door of the truck is slightly ajar and the truck appears to be empty. In the foreground there is light brown, slightly golden vegetation. The background of the painting is red and pink in color. There appears to be a structure in the background though it is not clearly defined. Artist signature in the bottom right corner, purple in color, reading "L W Watterson." The edges of the painting are deckled/raw. The verso is blank with splattered paint throughout that is red, purple, yellow, and blue in color. Title of piece, "'47 Dodge," is written in black ink near the top right corner and in black ink along the right edge there is a series of numbers written that read, " 722-0109 (?)." |
