Description |
Basket found in the collection of the Littleton Museum. The basket is rectangular, made of steel wire in two different sizes welded together to form the basket. The 1/8 inch wire is the frame. The rest of the basket is made of 1/16 inch wire. There is no top but it does have two pieces of 1/8 inch rod that are bent and attached to the top to serve as a handle. The basket appears to be painted with silver paint. The basket has no manufacture marking. The basket would have been in grocery stores that were becoming more self service. The customer would carry it to hold items. |
