Tan felt cowboy-style hat; black ribbon trim around brim; many signatures all over hat; signed by customers & downtown Littleton merchants; interior has dark tan plasticized tap inside the crown; black, blue & red ink autographs; from Frey's Cafe (see Notes). From the exhibit "The Story of Littleton in 125 Objects": This tan felt cowboy hat belonged to Opal Frances Cundiff, who worked at Frey's Café on West Main Street. In 1941, all downtown merchants were asked to dress in Western attire for Western Welcome Week; Ms. Cundiff asked both customers and merchants to sign her hat. |
